Cleveland Steel Container Corporation is founded in 1963 by current Chairman & CEO Mr. Christopher I. Page and Mr. Edward F. Crawford
The first pail line is built and installed by Mr. Page himself in the original Cleveland factory.
Globe Steel Barrel, a local Cleveland company, is purchased in order to enter the steel drum business. All steel pail operations are moved to the larger Cleveland plant.
The steel pail plant in Quakertown, Pennsylvania opens for production. It is still running over 50 years later.
Purchased the Republic Steel Container Division located in Niles, Ohio.
The primary steel pail plant in Cleveland is closed and moved to Niles. Additionally, the Niles drum line is sold to focus on steel pail production instead.
An era of maturity and stability within the steel pail industry is seen, particularly at Quakertown. North Pak is launched to great success. It eventually rebrands to Pipeline Packaging in 2012.
Streetsboro, Ohio welcomes the completion of the Cleveland Steel Container Corporations Technical Center. The facility features room for future manufacturing operations and pail innovations.
Peotone, Illinois becomes home to a brand new pail line built and installed within the first year. 2019 saw the same plant receive a major remodel with the installation of a much improved and cleaner pail assembly process.
The metal stamping plant in Streetsboro, Ohio begins production.
The acquisition of Carando Machine Works’ steel pail division is completed. It further expands the customer base covered by Cleveland Steel Container.
Norton Packaging’s steel pail business in Oakland, California is acquired. The acquisition drastically expands the company’s West Coast offerings.
Cleveland Steel Container completes its acquisition of Southline Metal Products steel pail division.
Cleveland Steel Container completes the acquisition of Greif’s steel pail division. This further expands the company’s customer portfolio.
Cleveland Steel Container opens its’ Kilgore, Texas plant in December of that year.

Cleveland Steel begins using Salesforce in order to better record its customer’s needs as well as improving communication with them through Pardot.
Cleveland Steel Container acquires US Coexcell, keeping them as a separate entity but gaining their in-depth knowledge of plastics and blow-molding.

By slightly adjusting the channel where the cover sits on the curl of the pail, our covers now fit easier and seal better when placed on a steel pail.
